Introducing a new range of Moving Coil Cartridges from Japan, the new brand is called Hana - (hana means “brilliant and gorgeous” in Japanese). Hana MC Phono Cartridges use high rigidity aluminum cantilevers, and cross-shaped armatures, providing a ‘brilliant and gorgeous’ sound at competitive price ranges for Moving Coil (MC) Cartridges of this quality.

Manufactured by Excel Sound Corporation, a 50 year old company based in Tokyo, who started off manufacturing low cost cartridges, such as the highly regarded Excel ES70 and by 1978 was producing MC cartridges, with particular expertise in high output MC cartridges and specializing in OEM cartridge manufacture. They are perhaps seen as one of those slightly underground Japanese companies - who certainly will not reveal which cartridge brands they have manufactured for over the years. The are now in 2015 launching their own-brand range of cartridge named Hana.

Hana SL

Low cost, high performance, low output Moving Coil cartridge with Shibata stylus.

The Hana SL cartridge has a Natural Diamond Shibata diamond stylus fitted to a high rigidity aluminum cantilever with cross-shaped armature, offering super transparency and excellent track-ability. The body is manufactured from a composite low resonance plastic material in black.

This competitively priced Low output moving coil cartridge offers great quality sound referenced against similar priced cartridges. The SL (Shibata low output) offers 0.5mv/1KHz output.
